Death Gun Was Stolen

BUFFALO, NY  (UPI)—Police said they have linked the shooting of Nicholas C. Tirone, 22, of Buffalo last Sunday with a north side burglary.

 

They said the .32 caliber Colt automatic which killed Tirone was taken from a safe in the basement of the home of Renard P. Adams of Nottingham Terrace, Friday night. Also taken was five new $100. bills.

 

The weapon was found near the scene of the shooting at Porter Ave. and Niagara St. on the west side.

 

Police said they were continuing to question Anthony Tortorice, 21, of Buffalo who said he was with Tirone when he was shot, However, Tortorince told police he failed to see the assailant. He was held as a material witness in $10,000 bail.

 

Adams said he had been keeping the gun for a friend who died recently. He said some cash and travelers checks also were taken.
